Green in colour, this rich, piquant variety is characterised by scent of olives, artichokes, basil and rosemary. Its rich olive taste is followed by sensations of herbs and a hint of bitterness and strong zing. It fantastically complements intensive foods such as mature cheese, wild asparagus, blue fish, meat and truffles thus creating a unique magic on your palate. Store in cool and dark place.

The Frantoio oil is also Ipša's most prized variety, winning a place among the Flos Olei Guide top 20 world olive oils in 2011, 2017 and 2021.

Ipša is a family estate which has been producing extra virgin olive oil and wine for more than 20 years and is today a well-known and accepted brand on both Croatian and world gastronomical maps. You will find them surrounded by olive groves in a small hamlet, Ipši, just 10 minutes away from Oprtalj, a picturesque medieval village situated high on a hill. Just a stone’s throw from Slovenia, 200 metres above the sea level in north western Istria the landscape here is absolutely breathtaking with small stone houses dotted around the hills, deep forests, plains, meadows and paths leading food and wine lovers to new discoveries. In 1998, the Ipša family decided to return to the family tradition and start restoring the old olive groves. Already in 2001, they were among the first to start picking olives by variety, which affirmed them at the very beginning of olive growing on the Croatian, and soon the world olive scene.
